Birthday Outfits Roundup

As you may know, both my blogging anniversary and my birthday are in June.  I’m a little nutso starting my blog during such a busy month- there are several other family birthdays, my parents’ anniversary and Father’s Day. But, life’s a little weird, I’m a little weird and it all works out. So, anyway, this year I decided to post separately for each occasion.  Last week I posted about my blogiversary and today I’m sharing my birthday outfits. My outfits include some of my favorite summer pieces. And they’re all affordable!

I made an effort to be present during my birthday celebrations and didn’t get many outfit shots other than selfies, so I recreated the looks for this post.  Which means little things may be different like nail polish and a faded tan.  That might have been a blogger mistake but it was wonderful spending more time with the people around me and enjoying the day(s) instead of trying to capture my looks.

I LOVE getting dressed up and celebrating my birthday. I like to splurge on some new clothing items & accessories and treat myself to some “birthday pampering” leading up to it. This year included an eyebrow wax, pedicure and no-chip manicure. I also self tanned. These things make me feel relaxed and pretty- like any birthday girl should!

Lake/Beach Day Outfit

The Saturday before my birthday I took a trip to Lake Geneva, WI.  If you’re near the area and haven’t been, I highly suggest it.  I’ve gone for a birthday day trip the last 4 or 5 years.  This year we stayed for dinner, too!  The weather was beautiful- a little hot which perfect for being outside. The only downside was that it rained while we were at the beach. But we still had a wonderful time.

I’ve shared this Old Navy dress before, but this version is sleeveless. It is comfortable and fits well! I ordered a tall online, but it comes in regular lengths as well. Dresses are great during the summer and this swing style is my favorite.

Birthday Dinner Outfit

On my actual birthday, I spent the day with my sister and my family took me to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner. Yum! I’ve worn this ILY Couture shirt for a few years now but they still sell them.  It was perfect with these Target shorts for a more casual look.  The 5″ inseam is great for my long legs plus I like the way they fit. I enjoyed having a feel good, yet simple, outfit on my special day.
