Last week, I posted a picture of my Christmas Eve look on my Instagram account. Here are the details!
The style portion of the look consisted of 3 items from my Fall/Winter Wish List: lace up flats, leather leggings and a poncho/cape style sweater
For makeup, I went with a new lip product and used favorites for the rest of my face.
Christmas Eve Look
I have been loving the lace up flats I see on Instagram and finally found at a reasonably priced pair in my size. Once I received them I thought they would be great to wear Christmas Eve, so I saved them so I would have something new I was happy they looked nice on me and fit well. Boy, do they remind me of my ballerina days.
I found this pair on sale at Old Navy. I actually ordered them online but cannot find them on the website now. They also had a nude color available.
My eye has been on a few pairs of leather leggings from Alloy Apparel (my go-to for pants). Lucky me, Alloy had a sale on Black Friday and I was able to get a pair in my size and inseam withdrew shipping at a discount. The more I thoughts out what I wanted to wear with my flats I thought these leggings would be fun. They look nice but are very comfortable since they are leggings.
These are the “Ponte Leather Front Leggings” from alloy.com. They run between $29.90-$36.90 based on size and inseam (before shipping). Note: I order 37″ inseam because I am tall.
As Christmas Eve got closer I wasn’t sure what top I was going to wear yet. But then, I got my hands on a poncho/cape style sweater I had been wanting and I knew it would go well with the 2 pieces I had already decided on. I was lucky again with this sweater, it was on sale at Target.
I cannot find this exact sweater on the website, but they have many similar styles available. Target usually has reasonable, budget friendly prices, which is always great!
The necklace I wore was also from Target. It was $16.99 before tax. They currently have lots of long necklaces to choose from, it was hard to pick one.
Moral of this post: being patient and waiting to buy something you think you really like can save lots of money. Haha.
Makeup
Since this outfit is a little edgy for me, I thought a smoky eye and a bold red lip would compliment it well. For eyes, I used my Lorac Pro palette. I smudged liner just along my upper lashes and 3/4 of the way in on my bottom lash line, with black shadow to keep the inner corner area light. I don’t do liner often but thought it would compliment this edgy look very well! My NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella with my Milani Color Statement Lipliner in True Red (02) were used for my lipcolor.
I was very pleased with how my Christmas Eve look turned out. It was a fun night! I ate too much food and got to visit with family I don’t see very often.
How was your Christmas Eve?
