Is it just me, or does skincare feel really complicated lately? I tried to buy and use as many “clean” products as possible for a few years. But I learned that “clean” is actually a really broad term and doesn’t have as specific guidelines as you’d think. Over the past say 6 months or so, I felt more of a tug to focus on cruelty-free products. While I’m slowly replacing all products, cruelty-free skincare was a focus for me. I’m so happy to have found some products that are really effective while being budget-friendly. Honestly, some of them work better than similar products that cost a lot more. Here’s my current routine:

- Elf Pure Skin Cleanser: nice and gentle but works well with my combo oily skin. There’s no noticeable scent which I appreciate.
- Elf Holy Hydration! Eye Cream: I found this eye cream after trying a professional brand that was more than $50. This Elf one is more moisturizing for me. *claps* (PS – if you’re not using an eye cream – you should!)
- BYOMA Clarifying Serum: I’ve been using some harsher products, like benzoyl peroxide, to fight acne and I wanted to try something different. I’m really impressed with this so far.
- BYOMA Brightening Serum: Also impressed with this serum and the whole brand.
- Elf Holy Hydration! Hydro-Gel Moisturizer: I love how affordable the Elf skincare line is and yet it’s effective and cruelty-free skincare. I usually worry about hydrating products making the oily areas of my face more oily/shiny but this doesn’t do that and feels nice on my skin.
- Kinship Self-Reflect Probiotic Moisturizing Sunscreen: Face sunscreen is hard. There are a lot I don’t like the texture of. Or they have a weird smell. This one is great. It feels light on the skin, looks good, lays well with moisturizer, and doesn’t have much of a scent. It’s on sale a lot at Ulta, too!
- Elf Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm: I’ve repurchased this cleansing balm more times than I can count. It’s really good. I double-cleanse with a cleanser after rinsing this off.
- BYOMA Moisturising Gel-Cream: Another great BYOMA product. I don’t use this at the same time as the Hydro-Gel Moisturizer but it’s so good I still had to include it.
Have you tried any of these products?

Since I’m doing a cruelty-free skincare update, why not do a little life update too? The last couple of months feel like a different life but in the best ways. I’m seeing things on my vision board happen which feels amazing! I left the banking industry and started a new job. It’s been a great change that was much needed. I also started dating someone. Dating after a traumatic relationship was hard and scary but M is truly amazing and good to me. He checks off boxes I didn’t even know I had on my list. If this sounds cliche and sappy, it probably is. But with all the work I did on myself after said relationship, I know my worth and what I want from a relationship. So, it was easy to move on from guys that didn’t fit that.
I also joined the coaching program I have been wanting to join for months and months. I’ll be making changes to my coaching offers and can’t wait to help other women as they heal from trauma and build success in their own lives.
June is a busy month for my family and is in full swing. How has it been so far for you?
Thank you for being here.
