Most mornings I stick to a basic makeup routine but I do like to add a lippie. I feel like lip color really adds a lot to an outfit especially with a simple makeup look. I have several colors that I wear year round but there’s also a handful that I reach for as the weather cools down. Last fall I shared my favorite nail polish colors. Those colors haven’t changed much so this year I wanted to share fall lip colors! I’ll probably wear these into the winter as well since our fall kind of just slides right into winter here. I have fair skin but these shades work well with darker skin tones too.
I’m focusing on the colors more than the brand but I do love and recommend all the products I’m listing. I included drugstore and high-end fall lip colors to give ideas for any budget. I own several liquid lipsticks but the darker the color the harder it is for me to work with, especially with drier skin this time of year. So, lately I’ve been opting for something a little more forgivable like creamy formulas, regular lipsticks and glosses.
Colors are listed top to bottom
Dusty Rose
Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss in CEO
I got this gloss as an everyday shade. I’ve talked about Lorac glosses before because they’re a favorite of mine! They’re smooth and not too sticky. They’re highly pigmented, contain antioxidants and smell good.
Creamy Medium Brown
They say it’s brown but I swear it’s red on me!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Vamp
This is newer in my fall lip color collection. I was looking for a vampy color so a gloss with this name was a no brainer. Although it’s a gloss it’s very pigmented and does leave a tint of color behind. It’s a smooth formula with high coverage. But it’s not too thick or sticky! ABH has a liquid lipstick in this same shade if you prefer that type of lippie.
Violet
NYX Pin-up Pout Lipstick in Violet Femme
I went to Ulta for a plum lipstick but as I looked I realized I actually wanted something a little brighter and bolder. This violet hue is perfect! I never thought I would wear a true purple on my lips but I’m feeling it. It’s not an everyday color but I’ll wear it on the weekend or to an event. This lipstick photographs a little dark, but as you can tell by the swatch it’s not a deep vampy purple which is what I wanted. You could probably guess that I like NYX lip products. They’re high quality at drugstore prices. This formula is classic and creamy with rich pigment.
Mauve Nude
NYX Liquid Suede in Soft-Spoken
I pair it with this Suede Matte Lip liner in the same shade.
I’ve had this one for a while and it always wears well. With my coloring I don’t always like a nude lip, but I like this because it’s more of a brown and the mauve undertones compliment my skin tone. I’ve actually gotten several compliments! The formula dries down but stays creamy and comfortable. I love that it has a matching matte liner!
Plummy Pink
Think burgundy!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo
I pair it with this liner in Burgundy.
To me, this is a classic fall lip color shade- not neutral but also not too intense for the cooler weather. I’ve had this one in my collection for a few years but kind of forgot how good it is. The formula is fantastic because it actually stays soft! If you love a matte finish but also struggle with the way liquid lipsticks dry – try Soft Matte Creams!
Shout-out to the companies for providing color descriptions. 🙂

It’s been one of “those” weeks so I’m sure glad the weekend is close. I’m looking forward to a hockey game with coworkers and catching up on my to-do list. I hope you have a great weekend! Thank you so much for stopping by!
