Hair Care Routine ft. Strong Sexy Hair

Hair Care Routine ft. Strong Sexy Hair | Caitlin Cosmetologist

I’m not one to run out and buy new products anymore since I’ve been better about budgeting. So, it took me a little while to try Sexy Hair’s Strong Sexy Hair line. When I finally did I was impressed.

I started with the shampoo and conditioner and after attending a Sexy Hair continuing education class in September, I grabbed the leave-in reconstructor and masque too.

I have now repurchased the whole line at least twice (maybe even 3 times). When I need shampoo and conditioner at the salon, I plan to purchase these. After my first bottles of shampoo and conditioner I went back to my favorite Joico shampoo but it was clear that my hair had been benefiting from this line. Being wavy, my hair is naturally dry and lightening it for my ombré meant it needed some serious TLC. So I’ve been using this line since and don’t plan on changing.

Strong Sexy Hair

The Strong Sexy Hair line (by Sexy Hair) is made up of 4 products: Color Safe Strengthening Shampoo, Color Safe Strengthening Conditioner, Core Strength (Masque) and Core Flex (Leave-in Reconstructor). All are nourishing anti-breakage formulas made with aloe vera and mango butter. They contain no sulfates, parabens or gluten. The line is set up in 3 steps: shampoo, conditioner and leave-in with the masque as an add-on product but not necessary to receive the benefit of up to 80% less breakage.

My Routine

In the shower I use the Color Safe Strengthening Shampoo and Color Safe Strengthening Conditioner. While the conditioner is still on my hair I put the Core Strength (Masque) on for extra moisture and clip my hair up. I wait to rinse it out at the end.

After the shower I carefully towel dry my hair and use Biosilk Silk Therapy all over, concentrating on the ends. Then in sections, I spray It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product and Core Flex (Leave-in) and comb through with my fingers. I finish styling by blow drying with a diffuser.

This may seem like a lot. But, my hair has been feeling so dry and I just can’t have that, haha.

Note, a little Silk Therapy goes a long way. It’s easy to use too much and make my hair look oily- eeek! Using it first seems to keep me from adding too much to each layer.

Holy Grail Products

This post has focused on the Strong Sexy Hair line because its the “newest” addition to my routine but the other 2 products are also fabulous.

Here is an old post discussing my favorite products and an even older post about Biosilk.  I discovered It’s a 10 while in cosmetology school and Biosilk at my first salon job, so I’ve been using them both for several years. Nothing else I’ve tried compares and I always go back to them.

Everyone’s hair is different but I would highly recommend the Strong Sexy line, Biosilk, and It’s a 10 if you are looking to add moisture to your hair. The hairstylist in me has to remind you to check with your hairstylist for recommendations too!

Have you tried any of these products?

  1. Awesome! I have not tried these but I have heard amazing things about them! My hair is the same as yours – wavy, dry and color-treated. I HATE the breakage that I get – so it sounds like I need to try this line out! Thanks for posting!
