I’m the kind of person that has all her holiday outfits planned before her Christmas shopping is done. I like to be prepared! Plus, if I need to buy any new items I have to watch the sales. It’s foolish to buy anything at full price this time of year! So, I thought I would share a quick post with what I’m planning to wear to give you some ideas for your own holiday outfit. I’m including 4 main looks for Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and a work party. But, of course, you can mix and match items however you want.
Originally, I thought it would be fun to share photos of me in each look but it took awhile for one of the pieces to come in the mail. I’ve already waited long enough to publish this post so I’m trying it this way! I decided to wear as many things as I could that I already own so I don’t stray too far from my budget. The things I did buy I know I’ll get multiple uses out of so they are well worth the (sale) cost.
I’ve featured both tall and regular options where I could. It can be a challenge for any size but I especially feel for my fellow tall babes trying to find pants! I like to keep the items I share under $50, but that wasn’t possible for some items this time. But, you may be able to find them from a different store or on sale. Again, this is for inspiration!

My family goes to Christmas Eve mass and then gets together with my Mom’s family. So, we tend to dress up a little. This year will be different for me since I will be going to dinner with J’s family and then mine. But, I still want to dress up a little.
The tunic comes in a couple colors but I thought this red was festive for the season. I’m pairing it with black jeans and leopard flats. Black leggings could work with this top, too. I have this tall pair (37″ inseam!) and love them. And here’s a regular length option that I see great reviews for. Of course I’ll be wearing a red lip! This Nars lip pencil in Cruella is matte but does need to be re-applied. If I want to apply a liner first to help it last longer, I use this one from Milani. I’ll probably go with a neutral but shimmery/sparkly eye.
These bracelets have become my favorites for occasions like this. They go perfectly with my two-tone watch. The best part? They’re both under $50 but look much more expensive. I’ve gotten several compliments when I wear them! The gold bracelet is here and the cuff is here. I’ll also note that I have small wrists and these fit really well!
This sherpa pullover just came in the mail and I’m so excited! I plan to wear it for Christmas Day because I want to be super cozy.
My family has breakfast and opens presents together and then spends time with my dad’s side. So it’s a pretty casual day. I’ll see J’s family as well this year. I’m swapping my typical cute sweater for ultimate comfort with the sherpa pullover. I’m pairing it with my current favorite skinny jeans and UGG boots. I’ll do this Clinique Chubby Stick in Mightiest Maraschino for Christmas but keep it simple with a light, neutral eye and just pearl stud earrings. I think a nude pink lip would be great with the color of the pullover, but why not wear a red lip one more time? It does need to be reapplied but Chubby Sticks are moisturizing so they’re nice in this dry weather.
J and I are planning a trip after Christmas and the first week of January so I’m not quite sure what we’ll be doing yet. The planner in me is a little worried about not knowing yet but, we’ll figure it out. We have to get the logistics of all our Christmas parties down first. 🙂
If we go out like we did last year – I’ll dress up. Since I want to wear something I already own I’ll wear my long sleeve black lace top. I’ve linked a similar style since mine is old. It’s cute with black leather leggings (Tall | Regular) or a fun skirt and cute black flats. I think NYE is the best excuse to wear sequins or lace and full glam, so that’s my goal. A red lip could work again for this celebration. Otherwise, a fun colored lipstick is perfect for the occasion. I’ve been eyeing this drugstore liquid lipstick. The shade Creator is fabulous!
Last year, I wore a long sleeve swing dress to my work party and it was perfect. This dress is similar. I like swing dresses from Old Navy (if you’ve read my blog or seen my IG before you already know!) because they come in tall! Which means, the length is right. Since it’s around a different group of people I could wear the same jewelry and shoes I wore for Christmas Eve or some black flats and earrings I already have. I would wear my fave nude pink liquid lipstick – Stila Stay All Day in Baci and an extra coat of mascara for big lashes!
I hope this post gave you some inspiration and tips to reuse some things you already own! Pin these images for later! 🙂
What are you planning to wear?
