L'Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation Review | Caitlin Cosmetologist | I'm not sure why I wanted to try L'Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation. Spoiler Alert: I'm really glad I tried it because it's not what I expected!

I’m not really sure why I wanted to try the L’Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation. I thought this one was a lightweight natural finish and I typically choose full-coverage matte formulas. But, there was something about this foundation that was calling my name. Spoiler Alert: I’m really glad I tried it because it’s not what I expected! Read on to see why!

L’Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation

The number 1 thing that makes or breaks a foundation for me is how well it lasts throughout the day. With this being a thin, lightweight, natural finish, I assumed it wouldn’t last and would break up badly on my chin. Like with most L’Oreal products, I’m impressed with this foundation!

Coverage: Let me start by saying, I assumed that because this formula is described as breathable and lightweight that it was a light coverage and therefore, it wouldn’t cover well. But, I was wrong! It’s actually medium-to-full buildable coverage that does cover well. And it doesn’t look cakey when I need to build up the coverage in certain areas.

Consistency: As I mentioned before, this is a lightweight, breathable formula, aka thin liquid. It blends well with a buffing brush. See my favorite, affordable brushes here.

Wear: For the most part, this lasts well throughout the day. Like most foundations, it does break up where I’m oily, mostly my chin. I’m not surprised by this because my chin is oily and my allergy/sinus issues cause me to wipe my nose a lot. It doesn’t hold up as well as others I’ve tried, but, it still looks okay when I blot and refresh with a little powder.

Color: I use the shade Porcelain and really like it! There are 30 shades in the range, total.

Scent: The formula definitely has a noticeable scent. If you’ve read any of my other foundation reviews, you know that a strong scent can be overwhelming to me.  But, I got used to this one and actually like it now.

Pros

I really like the way L’Oreal Fresh Wear Foundation looks on my skin! Another perk is that it has a pump which makes it so much easier to apply. I like to apply it right to my skin and then blend it out. Plus, the price is great – $12-$15!

Cons

I prefer formulas without fragrance because my skin can be sensitive but I haven’t noticed a reaction to this one. I know I said that most foundations break up midday on my chin and nose, but this one probably does it the most out of the other foundations in my rotation. It’s definitely not a deal-breaker, especially since I like the way it looks on the rest of my skin. But, I won’t choose this for long days or nice events where I won’t have as much time to touch up.

Note to self, read descriptions before you buy products. That’s what they’re there for, haha. But, overall, this is a good foundation and definitely worth trying! Especially, if you’re looking for something from the drugstore! I think this one will be a good one to use with a mask since it’s waterproof and resists sweat and transfer.

Also, peep my baby hairs in this pic – lol! They are starting to get long and have a mind of their own from the collagen powder I use.
