Recently Read- Books to Add to Your List

I love to read! I remember being in awe at the Scholastic book fair at school, in the library or at Barnes and Noble, and getting my first library card.  All of these give me great memories of books and reading. But, as an adult I don’t have much time to read.  And honestly, when I do have time I end up falling asleep or starting something else instead.  When my sister suggested I listen to audiobooks or podcasts during my commute I started renting books from the library. I drive about an hour or an hour and a half each day which gives me lots of time to cross some books off my list.  It also helps the commute go by faster!

In my life update back in January I shared The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain as one of the things I was loving.  (If you missed my brief review of The Silent Sister read it here.) That book started me on a thriller kick (although not all of the books listed in this post are thrillers).  After reading several more books, I had the idea to share the books I finished and liked with my fellow avid readers in their own post rather than a life update.

Books I’ve Recently Read/Listened To:

The Widow by Fiona Barton

A thriller with a surprising ending. I liked this one a lot!

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

A thriller with a big twist! I wonder if you’ll guess what happens.

Recently Read | Caitlin Cosmetologist

Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

Another thriller with a lot of suspense. I liked Paris’ writing style.

The Hopefuls by Jennifer Close

This is political fiction which makes it a lighter read than the previous titles.  It focuses on the ups and downs of life and love which makes it relatable.

Recently Read | Caitlin Cosmetologist

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

I’m sure you’ve heard of this one! I would call this is a mystery. The plot is complex, I wanted to keep listening instead of getting out of the car!

Recently Read | Caitlin Cosmetologist

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

This is a thriller! I lovoed the narrator’s voice and Ware’s writing style.  Another one I couldn’t stop listening to.

Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton

This is a memoir. I actually heard Glennon speak last summer so this was an exciting one for me! It’s honest and inspiring.
