My search for a long wearing, oily t-zone, fair skin friendly foundation continues. The biggest thing I look for in a foundation is longevity or wearibility. In other words, a long lasting product. Because I am oily in my t-zone a lot of formulas will slip right off or separate in certain areas, as the day goes on. So when I saw fellow beauty bloggers talk highly about Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation and how long it lasted I knew I wanted to try it.
Along with longevity I also look for coverage, consistency, color and scent.
So, how did this Rimmel foundation do in these areas?
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
Coverage: This is a full coverage foundation but I didn’t feel like it looked cakey or too thick. I actually got compliments while wearing it.
Consistency: Nothing out of the ordinary. It blended really well into my skin with a makeup sponge and had a nice finish.
Longevity: The BIG test! I was impressed with how this wore throughout the day.
Color: In the bottle, the lightest shade (091 Light Ivory) looked like it would be too dark for me. However, it actually had a really nice color. It was slightly off when I was not self tanned and possibly a little too pink but I was able to make it work with powder and blush. (This happens a lot since I am naturally fair, haha.) Despite this, I would repurchase this foundation.
Scent: This is not a big factor but if a product has a really strong scent I am usually turned off. This one had a fragrance to it that was a little strange at first but it was tolerable.
Other Information About This Foundation
According to Rimmel, this foundation lasts for 25 hours against sweat, humidity and heat and stays comfortable all day. It is a skin perfecting full coverage makeup. It is about $7 depending where you buy it. (I found mine at Target.)
Yay or Nay? Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation is definitely a yay! I used it with my normal concealer and set it with powder and it felt nice and looked good on my skin. It applied evenly, blended well and didn’t seem to wear off my oily areas much during the work day. It doesn’t claim to be mattifying but lasting through sweat and humidity seemed to help with oil control. Overall, this is a great product for a great price!
Aside from the color issue, I would say this foundation is a new favorite. Especially considering that longevity is my biggest concern. Even so, I am still going to try others foundations because it’s actually pretty fun! And why not see if I can find one that meets all those factors? I’ll accept that challenge. 🙂
I haven’t used many Rimmel products but the ones I have tried, I’ve liked. I’m adding this one to that list! Here are the others I’ve used.

The foundation looks great on you! I wonder if it would be suitable for my dry-ish skin? I LOVE full-coverage foundations and I LOVE Rimmel, so I might have to try!
Thank you! 🙂 With the “comfort serum” this might be a good foundation for dry skin. Let me know what you think if you try it!
