Soooo, I’ve been hoarding full coverage concealers. It took me a long time to try Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer but when I did I was hooked! I’ve seen a few drugstore concealers be compared to Shape Tape. So, of course, I needed to test them and see for myself. I like being able to recommend products from different price ranges and honestly, I enjoy trying new products! So, how do these Shape Tape concealer dupes compare?

What I Like About Shape Tape

One tube lasts a long time – you get .33 oz of concealer for $27. The formula is creamy so it blends well and a little bit goes a long way. I really like the shade I use – fair-light neutral. But, there’s a large selection of shades. Overall, it looks nice on my skin and covers so well. I don’t think it looks cakey or dry on me.

All of these concealers, including Shape Tape, are full coverage with a matte finish. For me, they are not drying, but I have combo-oily skin so I prefer matte makeup.  They all have a large doe foot applicator which makes applying the concealer a breeze. I set concealer around my eye area with translucent powder and on my nose, forehead, and chin with a loose setting powder, like this.

Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define: This formula is GOOD. My only real complaint is the size. I felt like I went through the tube quickly but it is smaller than all the others. You get.11 oz of concealer for $7. So really, it’s 1/3 of the product for 1/3 of the price of Shape Tape. I used the shade C3.5.

Cover Girl TruBlend Undercover Concealer: I’m not sure if it was the shade or the texture but something just wasn’t quite right for me.  However, its a great price and performs well if you can find the right shade. For $11.99, you get .33 oz of concealer. I used the shade classic ivory which is actually very similar to Tarte’s fair-light neutral so I’m not sure why it seemed off.

L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer: I’m currently using this one. The first thing I noticed was the scent. I was worried it would be overpowering. But now I don’t really notice it.  You get .33 oz for $13.49 of concealer here.  I grabbed the shade oatmeal in this one and it’s perfect for me! Out of the 3, I think this is my favorite.

I definitely think Shape Tape is worth the money. I actually have a few backups right now thanks to a sale at Ulta and then Tarte’s site (told you I was hoarding concealer, lol). However, when I do eventually run out and don’t want to spend the money on Shape Tape, I’ll definitely turn to one of these budget-friendly options.

Have you tried any of these? I’d love to know what you think.
