It’s currently snowing and according to the weather report there is a winter weather advisory in affect through tomorrow when we will get below zero temps, eek! What a great time to talk about something warm and cozy like a blanket scarf.
I love accessorizing with regular scarves but for these cold weather days the thicker and warmer the better.
I bought a blanket scarf at the end of fall last year because I was intrigued and I quickly understood the hype. This year I definitely wanted a couple more in my collection. Once I had a few more I also wanted some different ways to wear them.
Today, I am sharing 3 affordable blanket scarves I am loving AND a pictorial on 3 ways to wear them.

How I Style Blanket Scarves
Scarf 1: Red and Green Blanket Scarf by Knit Pop Shop
Basic Style (Around the Neck)
Fold the scarf into a triangle
Place it over your shoulders with the point in front
Wrap one tail across your back to the opposite side so you can tuck it under the front
Do the same with the other tail
Make sure both tails are tucked under the front (point of the triangle)
Adjust shape to your liking
Ta-da!
Scarf 2: Women’s Blanket Scarf White/Black Plaid -Merona from Target
(Unfortunately by the time my 3rd scarf came in the mail I could not find this scarf in the dollar spot anymore but I linked another great neutral option from Target for you!)
Knotted Style
Start with a triangle shape again but slightly roll the straight edge down
Place it on top of your shoulders
Pull the sides straight down
Make a knot
And another
Adjust the knot to your comfort and you are good to go!

Shawl Style
Did you guess a triangle? Its the best way to control all the fabric!
Place the triangle behind you, with the point in the center
Pull the sides over your shoulders

Just like that. Easy right?
Although the basic style is my go-to I like mixing it up and trying something different. I am sure I will be getting A LOT of use out of my blanket scarves and warm clothing with these crazy winter temperatures.
