My Urban Decay Power Couple

My Urban Decay Power Couple | Caitlin Cosmetologist

I would consider myself to have combination skin- oily in the t-zone but comfortable everywhere else.  Yet, I still have a problem with oil coming through my makeup after a few hours.  Its crazy!  I’m currently using both a foundation and powder designed to mattify.  But, nothing works as well without my newly found Urban Decay power couple.

Why Urban Decay?

For a few years now I’ve been using Urban Decay’s De-slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray. I like it.  It doesn’t have a scent that I notice throughout the day and it feels nice when sprayed onto my face.

A few weeks ago I looked for a primer to help in my mattifying efforts.  After looking at a few options I decided to try Urban Decay’s “Brightening and Tightening Complexion Primer Potion”.  I thought sticking with the same brand would help each product to work better once used together AND I think I was right.  The primer is lightweight and also has no noticeable scent. It applies easily to my skin and doesn’t feel greasy.

With just the spray I felt a difference in my makeup/skin and now with both the spray and primer I’m having much better results with lasting makeup than I did before. Which is great during the summer and long work shifts.

Urban Decay products are considered prestige and therefore cost more than drugstore products but I have always thought it was OK to budget for a few prestige skin care items that I know will make a difference in my skin.  So,  these are my two! Plus, its nice to earn those points at Ulta Beauty, where I buy all my prestige products, NYX brand and many other items throughout the year.

Want an affordable alternative?

As a more affordable option- I would recommend the L’Oreal Infallible makeup extender setting spray.
